I apologize for the fanatical religious idiots. I agree that cloning is wrong too, but they sound pitifully uninformed.

This site is obviously a fake to anyone knowledgable on the issue, but it is interesting. The fact that technology could advance this far, as is very possible, scares me.

I would also like to submit a couple of ethical questions:

First, the usual argument, what right does any human have to decide the genetically determined characteristics of any other human being? This is way outside our jurisdiction.

Second, if we could make a "perfect" human, would they remain perfect by our standards? Part of human life is struggle. Conquering our weaknesses is essential to our emotional and spiritual growth. If a person's physical imperfections were eliminated how could he/she grow? They wouldn't even need to be as intellectual. Their mental growth would be stunted.

Finally, how can anyone justify the emotional and spiritual confusion a cloned person is sure to have knowing not only that their genetically determined characteristics were predetermined by other humans, but also that someone with the same genetic code is already living or has lived?

Cloning is not something I want to be seen done...even though I know full well that more companies are going to pop up and begin offering services like this -- "Clones to Go." Like they say: you can't stop progress...regardless of what it is doing.

In the future, there are going to be companies like this- real ones. I think this site should be even MORE realistic. Fill it with as much accurate information as possible, and gloss over those details which are still (at the moment) science fiction. Sacrifice the humor for shock value. Of course, you need to keep a little of the light-heartedness to prevent people from turning away in disgust, or reaching for their credit card.
I only have one real objection to cloning. All the practical and social issues could be overcome, but there is one big religious one. I’m not going to complain that genetic engineering is playing God. That’s just a problem of arrogance- hardly anything new. The real problem is in these fine details of what makes a human life. Producing the clone would require destroying the genetic identity of a fertilized egg. I realize not all people believe this, but my religious beliefs define conception as the point where human beings receive their soul. Thus, replacing the genes of the host zygote with those of the donor would constitute murder. If you think a zygote is just part of a woman’s body, then I can’t say much to you. I simply believe that destroying an individual that is capable of becoming an adult is wrong.

I think it is interesting how so many of the anti-cloning comments are purely hostile with no solid arguments - only insults. If you guys want to get the point across, why don't you act like adults and express them clearly with facts to back up your opinions? Also, people who take this seriously need to examine the whole site before they formulate their opinions. Those of you who decide what you think before obtaining as many facts as possible need to consider becoming just a bit more open-minded....

I thought the site was very professional, and a lot of work was obviously put into it. Bravo to the writers! Why did you do this? Was it for a class, or did you just decide to do it? Cool!

Hi. I think you guys need a larger selection of cloning possibilities. It just isn't fun when the only 'designer' clones are 70's models and old movie stars. Also, I think a larger selection of animal cloning possibilities would increase business and profits. I also think you should research high-speed growth (for people who don't want to have to raise kids) and brain implants that would make the clones act more like their originals.
